MIKE NEMMERS (EMILY'S UNCLE):

A week and a half ago Emily's Uncle Mike Nemmers, who lives in Iowa, learned that he has terminal cancer.

We, at The Anchor, have already experienced first hand God's amazing and miraculous control over even the biggest diseases like cancer! Let's pray that God does a miracle in Mike's body! We know that God is able!  Let's also pray for the rest of the Nemmers/Smith family as they go through this hard time.

We are family at The Anchor, so when one of our family members is hurting, we hurt with them and we are there for them in any way possible! Let's be there for Emily and her Uncle Mike in this hard time. Please pray!

Psalm 103:2-5
2Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

THE KEEFOVER'S:

This past week Duane Keefover (Youth Leader) found out he has prostate cancer.

Doctors believe that with surgery, Duane will be cancer free.  God has already given Duane and Kay a peace about the situation. They are trusting in God and resting in the fact that He is in control.

Let's join together to lift up part of our family in Christ. We are believing and trusting that God's healing touch will be on Duane and that He will continue to provide this sense of peace that only comes from Him. Keep Duane and the Keefover family in your prayers over the next couple of weeks!

OUR FAMILY:

Monday evening the Keefover family lost a loved one. Kay's mother passed away after a few years of poor health.

This family is one of the most humble families we could ever know. Kay and Duane have been Youth Leaders for many years. They have always had a passion for Middle School and High School students. Todd is their youngest child and is currently a Senior in High School. The Anchor is blessed to have them as a part of our ministry team and as a part of our family.

Please keep the Keefovers' in your prayers this week.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon. Ashley will be driving back from Texas early on Friday. Lets also pray for her safety driving home.

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalms 46:1

UPDATE ON BRITTANY:
Praise God for what He has begun to do in Brittany's body!

Brittany has shown improvements since her stroke. She had been paralyzed on the left side of her body, her left leg and arm have been lifeless. She has recently been able to move and show small improvements on the left side of her body! Yesterday a speech therapist worked with Brittany and she was able to say her vowels along with the word "mom!" Imagine the joy her family experienced when they heard this!

Tests have been completed and biopsies are being reviewed. They believe there is an underlying cause to her health.

This is just the beginning of her recovery, she still has a ways to go.

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:15-18

Continue praying for clarity, for the doctors to be guided, and for Brittany's strength.

Brittany Sylvester attends Bethel Life Center AG here in Wichita. She is 18 years old, a freshman in college, but has had to come home because of her health. Her health has gotten worse and she is currently in the hospital. They believed she was battling Leukemia but doctors have ruled that out. She has had a stroke within the last 24 hours. Doctors aren't sure yet what she is facing.

Some of you may or may not know Brittany. Despite that, she is in desperate need of prayer. Lets lift our sister in Christ up and pray for a miracle to happen in her body! Exodus 15:26 "...For I am the Lord, your healer." We believe that God is our healer, pray for His healing power to pour on Brittany. Pray for strength and comfort for Brittany, family, and friends.
